Therapeutic Approach
Every adolescent who receives treatment at Cove Forge participates in a treatment program that is tailored to his special needs. Residents participate in individual therapy at least once a week, group therapy four days a week, and family therapy at least twice a month, as well as a variety of workshops and educational courses. Residents also participate in experiential ropes therapy on our 16-station high and low ropes course twice a week.

Average Length of Stay
The average length of stay in the mental health (Challenge House) program is 8-12 months depending on each individual's specific needs and goals. And for the Trust House (MHMR program) is 12-24 months.
Is Cove Forge Accredited?
Yes Cove Forge is Accredited, and licensed by Office of Mental Health, Office of Children, Youth and Families, and Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
When can I visit my Child?
We consider Cove Forge an open campus families can visit with the children at anytime, we ask that they try to limit visits to a minimum during the school day. Anyone can visit and/or have contact with the child as long as they are on the child's consent list approved by the parent/legal guardian.
What is the gender and ages of the children at Cove Forge?
Cove Forge Residential Treatment Facility is for boys ages 12-18 (Challenge House) and 12-21 (Trust House).
What can the children wear at Cove Forge?
Regular street clothes can be worn. The only restriction is that nothing gang related or drug/alcohol related be worn. No jewelry can be worn, no steel toed shoes or boots.
How is education provided during the stay at Cove Forge?
School is provided by the local intermediate 08 on Cove Forge grounds in conjunction with Williamsburg School District. School is provided year round with a short break at the beginning of the summer and another short break at the end of the summer.
Are there home passes at Cove forge?
Yes, there can be home passes at Cove Forge. After the initial 30 days a child can be eligible for a home pass as long as the psychiatrist and treatment team feels they are stable and safe to be off grounds for a pass.
