Therapeutic Approach
Every adolescent who receives treatment at Cove Forge participates in a treatment program that is tailored to his special needs. Residents participate in individual therapy at least once a week, group therapy four days a week, and family therapy at least twice a month, as well as a variety of workshops and educational courses. Residents also participate in experiential ropes therapy on our 16-station high and low ropes course twice a week.
Intake Procedures
We are available to accept admissions inquiries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at .
Admission to Cove Forge generally occurs Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The following organizations can initiate the formal application process for admission by forwarding a copy of the adolescent's most recent and/or most current psychiatric evaluation and/or psychological evaluation and any other pertinent information regarding the adolescent's treatment history:
- Children & Youth Services
- County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Organizations
- Managed Care Organizations
- Juvenile Probation Organizations
- Social Service Agencies
- Mental Health Professionals
Information submitted to Cove Forge is reviewed by the program directors and medical staff to determine the adolescent's appropriateness for admission and the probability for success in the Cove Forge residential treatment setting. Our admissions coordinator will set up interviews with the adolescent and his family in person or via telephone to review the program and to get to know the adolescent. Any information submitted to Cove Forge will always be held in the strictest confidence.
Following the interview, the referring agency representative and/or parent or legal guardian will be informed of the adolescent's acceptance of admission or denial of admission with justification, and will be provided with a projected date of admission.
Following the initial intake, a multidisciplinary assessment process will occur, followed by the development of an individualized treatment plan. When accepted for admission, the adolescent and his family are invited to visit Cove Forge for a tour.
In general, payment for our mental health services is made through medical assistance or a managed care organization, but efforts will be made to bill private insurance companies when appropriate.
