Therapeutic Approach
Every adolescent who receives treatment at Cove Forge participates in a treatment program that is tailored to his special needs. Residents participate in individual therapy at least once a week, group therapy four days a week, and family therapy at least twice a month, as well as a variety of workshops and educational courses. Residents also participate in experiential ropes therapy on our 16-station high and low ropes course twice a week.
Medical Services
Cove Forge provides a comprehensive heath care program to its residents, which includes:
- A physical exam conducted by a physician
- A comprehensive nursing assessment including medical history, health concerns, and ongoing medical care needs
- 24-hour nursing care
- Physician and psychiatric services as well as off-campus consultations, medical care, and dental and vision services
- Systematic monitoring of each resident's health needs, including daily medication regimen, lab work, and dental and/or vision care
- Medication administration and documentation
- Health and wellness education groups
- Consultation with school nurses and state health nurse regarding required annual examinations and immunizations
- Maintenance of medical records pertinent to diagnosis, treatment, and discharge
