Therapeutic Approach
Every adolescent who receives treatment at Cove Forge participates in a treatment program that is tailored to his special needs. Residents participate in individual therapy at least once a week, group therapy four days a week, and family therapy at least twice a month, as well as a variety of workshops and educational courses. Residents also participate in experiential ropes therapy on our 16-station high and low ropes course twice a week.
Recreation
In between classes and therapy sessions, the adolescents at Cove Forge have a lot of fun. Our rural location in the countryside of Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, gives our residents easy access to camping, fishing, and a wide range of other outdoor sports and recreational activities.
Each week, residents participate in a recreational outing geared toward the development of appropriate social skills and interaction within the community. At the end of the outing, residents process their feelings about the activity and the challenges they faced.
Because recreation and “down time” are essential for social skill development and maintaining healthy relationships, our residents participate in a variety of on- and off-campus activities.
