Therapeutic Approach
Every adolescent who receives treatment at Cove Forge participates in a treatment program that is tailored to his special needs. Residents participate in individual therapy at least once a week, group therapy four days a week, and family therapy at least twice a month, as well as a variety of workshops and educational courses. Residents also participate in experiential ropes therapy on our 16-station high and low ropes course twice a week.
Specialty Groups
The Corner
“The Corner” exists in every community, from small rural hamlets to major urban areas. It represents a gathering place where support for daily struggles and personal issues can be found by choice. People who go to their Corner know they will receive unconditional acceptance and the collective wisdom of all present.
At Cove Forge, The Corner is a voluntary “freestyle” group that utilizes the combined skills, knowledge, and abilities of the facilitator, non-clinical personnel, and the "community" as a whole. This format provides teens with a place to discuss their struggles and view snapshots of real-life successes, failures, joys, and sorrows that are applicable to each of their lives. Rather than studying books or theories, The Corner is about gaining knowledge through experience.
Straight Talk
Straight Talk is a voluntary “freestyle” group that addresses everyday issues facing residents, the Cove Forge community, and the world outside Cove Forge.
