For many people, the opportunity to practice their faith can be critical to their healing process from addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges. At Cove Forge Behavioral Health Center, we understand that integrating the teachings of the Bible — such as love, forgiveness, suffering, perseverance, and hope — into the therapeutic experience may help some individuals find the inner strength they need to reach their recovery goals.

At our center in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, we offer the River of Life Christian Program for any client who wishes to add a faith-based component to their care. Whether you have deep faith-based roots or are interested in exploring faith as part of your healing process, you have the option of adding this specialty track while you receive care in our residential program or partial hospitalization program (PHP).

Participating in the River of Life Christian Program is voluntary, so you are not required to add a faith-based component to your care. You do not need to have a Christian background to participate in this program; any adult who is seeking residential or PHP care at Cove Forge Behavioral Health is welcome to add this component to their programming.

When you or someone you love chooses to participate in our faith-based program, you still engage in all aspects of the residential program or PHP at our center in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. Any Christian elements you choose to participate in are incorporated into the therapies and interventions you receive as part of our robust residential or PHP services.

The River of Life Christian Program at Cove Forge Behavioral Health Center is a faith-based track that is integrated into our residential program and partial hospitalization program (PHP). We offer Christian programming for those who wish to incorporate a faith-based element into their therapeutic experience at our center in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania.

While receiving care in our residential program or PHP, you or your loved one can choose to attend Christ-centered groups Mondays through Fridays, as well as church services on Sunday afternoons. We understand how important it is for individuals to continually grow in their personal relationship with God. Weekly church services can help you or your loved one strengthen your connection to Christ while receiving care for addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges.

Group sessions offer the opportunity to connect with others who are exploring their relationship with God as they navigate the healing process from addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. Discussion topics center on the Bible, such as planning your time with God, what the Bible is, and incorporating prayer into your daily life.

These faith-based groups can provide you or your loved one with a safe space to seek support and guidance in a Christ-centered environment. You will also have the opportunity to hear diverse perspectives and exchange stories and experiences about how God has played a role in your healing and recovery journey. Group sessions often help our clients see that they are not alone, whether they build a stronger support network or a stronger relationship with God.

A pastoral counselor leads the faith-based groups at Cove Forge Behavioral Health, incorporating both therapeutic and theological concepts into each group discussion. Not only does this foster healing in group participants, but it also encourages spiritual growth and exploration. Our pastoral counselor is highly experienced in using tools such as prayer, scripture study, and participation to guide individuals to connect with others, their inner selves, and God.
