Drug Detoxification Program in Williamsburg, PA

Detoxification is often the first step in the substance abuse recovery journey. Cove Forge Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive detox program for adults.

Detox Program Overview

At Cove Forge Behavioral Health System, located in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, we offer an inpatient Non-Hospital detoxification program that is designed to help individuals safely withdraw from physically addicting drugs, such as alcohol, opioids, and sedative-hypnotics. The detox program at our treatment center is monitored by medical staff and includes 24-hour nursing supervision. The typical length of stay in our detox program is between 3 and 5 days. However, the actual length of an individual’s stay will be customized and may vary depending on his or her specific needs.

Medication-Assisted Detoxification

Medication-assisted detox is offered on an individualized basis when appropriate. When this occurs, certain medications may be implemented in order to assist in providing comfort during the withdrawal process. These medications, which include Buprenorphine, however, are only used in detox and are not offered for maintenance purposes once the detoxification process is complete.

Therapies & Services

Throughout their time spent in detox at our treatment center, individuals will have the opportunity to engage in a number of different therapeutic interventions. Their involvement in such, however, will be determined based on their medical stability and their ability to appropriately engage. The different types of therapeutic interventions offered in the detox program may include the following:

Medication management: Individuals in the detox program who have existing mental health symptoms or a history of mental health symptoms can expect to meet with a psychiatrist within 3 days of their admission. All subsequent meetings will be determined on an as-needed basis. Physicians, physician assistants, and nurses are all available to assist with any medication management needs that may arise at our treatment center while individuals continue through the detoxification process.

Individual therapy: Individual therapy sessions at our Williamsburg-based treatment center are conducted by one of our detox counselors within 24 hours of an individual’s admission into programming. After that first session, all subsequent individual sessions in the detox program will be held on an as-needed basis while he or she remains in detox.

Group therapy: Detox counselors and detox technicians lead between 5 and 7 group therapy sessions each day in the detox program at our treatment center. There are a number of topics discussed during these groups, which may include the following:

  • PAWS (Post-Acute Withdrawal Symptoms)
  • Why Are We Here?
  • What Does Addiction Mean to Me?
  • Problem Identification
  • Addiction and the Brain

  • Signs of Relapse
  • Identifying Relapse Triggers
  • Denial
  • Powerlessness

Throughout their time spent in the detox program at our treatment center, individuals will be provided will all-encompassing care that is designed to make them as comfortable as they possibly can be during this process.
