Who Can Benefit from Our Williamsburg Inpatient Program
Our medically monitored inpatient program is available for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from addictions to any number of substances, including alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids. It is specifically designed for individuals who are not medically or psychologically stable enough for a residential level of care but do not need acute medical or psychiatric hospitalization.
Patients in our Williamsburg inpatient program must be able to perform activities of daily living, but they may have physical, medical, or psychiatric limitations that require a need for 24/7 monitored care. This program is ideal for individuals who have complex biomedical, emotional, behavioral, or cognitive conditions that may complicate their recovery process.
We recognize that addictions affect people from all walks of life, and our program was created to be inclusive and effective for a diverse population, regardless of their background, treatment history, or personal challenges.
Please note that for a patient to be admitted to our inpatient addiction program, they must be free of any acute withdrawal signs and symptoms. Acute detoxification should be completed prior to entering the program.
Our Comprehensive Clinical Approach
The foundation of care in our inpatient addiction program is the disease concept model and 12-Step programming. We use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to create a well-rounded and effective care experience. Our clinical model is designed to be flexible, allowing us to tailor services to each person.
Our highly skilled clinical team includes physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified substance abuse counselors. This experienced team incorporates a variety of methods and services into the care they provide, including:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): CBT is used to help patients identify and change destructive thought patterns and behaviors.
- Reality therapy/choice therapy: Reality therapy focuses on problem-solving and helping patients learn how to make better choices.
- Motivational interviewing: Motivational interviewing is a collaborative approach to care that helps patients resolve ambivalence and strengthen their motivation for change.
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is an effective therapy for patients who have experienced trauma.
Our team believes in the importance of meeting patients where they are on their recovery journeys and providing appropriate interventions that will help them truly progress. We also believe that family involvement can be key to a person’s recovery, so we offer support and counseling for the loved ones of our patients.

Adult Inpatient Addiction Program Duration
The length of stay in our adult inpatient addiction program is not fixed. It is individualized and varies based on each person’s needs and the progress they make. The program itself is designed to be fluid, allowing for brief stabilization periods for some patients, while others may stay longer if they require more time to achieve medical, psychological, and behavioral stability.
Getting Started
