Cove Forge Behavioral Health System is a leading provider of addiction treatment services in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. We offer a residential program for adults who are struggling with addictions to substances like alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines. With our team’s support, patients can transform adversity into triumph as they navigate their path to recovery.
Residential Program Overview
The residential program at Cove Forge is our most intensive level of care. In this program, we serve adults age 18 and older who have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. Co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, can also be addressed. Our campus features separate dorms for men (Honesty dorm) and women (Humility dorm), each with 25 beds.
A residential setting can be ideal for those who are entering care for the first time or for those who have previously received addiction support. Our residential program lasts approximately 28 days. During their stay, patients live, learn, and grow alongside others who are on similar journeys. They follow a structured daily schedule that includes therapy along with creative and recreational activities.
Within the first few days of a patient’s admission to our Pennsylvania rehabilitation center, we begin preparing for their discharge. Upon completion of the residential program, each patient receives a detailed plan that outlines their next steps. Our aftercare recommendations may include outpatient services or other resources to promote continued progress.
Through our residential program, we strive to equip patients with the tools and strategies necessary to build a strong foundation for a substance-free future.
Therapies & Interventions Offered in Our Residential Program
Individuals who participate in our residential program can benefit from a number of different interventions, such as:
Medication management: Physicians, physician assistants, and nursing staff are available to provide medication management services for individuals who take medication as part of their overall care plans. Visits with a psychiatrist can also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Individual therapy: Patients meet with their primary counselor at least once per week. In individual therapy, they can share their successes and setbacks, receive support, and discuss material they may not be comfortable discussing during groups.
Group therapy: Groups are a core component of the residential program at Cove Forge. In a welcoming space, individuals can form relationships, gain encouragement, and discover new ways to handle difficult emotions and life situations. Groups at our Williamsburg campus are based on therapeutic modalities like:
- 12-Step recovery model
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Motivational interviewing (MI)
We offer a variety of groups, including:
- Addiction- and mental health-specific groups
- 12-Step meetings
- Aftercare groups
- Music groups
- Faith-based groups
Group topics can include:
- Coping skills
- Relapse prevention
- Ongoing recovery education
- Stress management
Family therapy: Addiction affects not just individuals but also the entire family. For this reason, we schedule family therapy sessions as needed or when requested by our patients. These sessions, conducted by a family counselor, help family members recognize how their own feelings and behaviors can influence their loved one’s recovery. By facilitating open, honest, and respectful communication, counselors assist families in rebuilding trust, resolving conflicts, and healing together.
Experiential therapy: In addition to traditional individual, group, and family therapies, patients can take advantage of experiential activities like rock climbing, games, crafts, and more.
